About Me:
I'm currently a 46 year old professional with broad musical interests. My career has led me to play with some giants of jazz music including Dizzy, Marian McPartland, Donald Byrd, Herb Ellis, Louis Bellson, Natalie Cole and almost too many others to count. I enjoy orchestral playing and chamber music and brass quintet stuff as well. I have enjoyed teaching young students how to play the trumpet over the years and expect you will probably be hearing from some of them!
Interests:
Outside of playing the trumpet, I like all kinds of movies (mostly historically accurate stuff and science fiction). I have at times been a voracious reader and I enjoy the work of Tom Clancy. I also attempt to play golf every chance I get. One of my new goals is to break 80 on the golf course. Wish me luck!
Heroes:
My favorite musician on this planet is trumpeter and composer Kenny Wheeler. He writes some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard. My second hero, at the moment, is Felix Vayser - thanks for building such a great horn!!
Hope to find___________ in Trumpet City...
trumpet players with similar interests. Contacts to produce more playing engagements. Cool people to meet and good music to share.
Hey, bro. Great to see you on here. With this set up, you can also access the Jazz Network... same un/pw. I'll shoot you an invite on that. Anyway...one of the best folks I know... and one of "my" heros..see you soon.
Johnny T! is one of the most outstanding jazz trumpeters in our region of the world. He can also teach most of us a few things about the legit side of the horn. When I'm not enjoying hearing Jon play, I'm usually laughing my ass of at one of his jokes! One of a kind...JC
