Profile Information

I play these instruments...
Bb Trumpet, C Trumpet, D/Eb Trumpet, A/Bb Piccolo, Cornet
I perform...
Classical, Solo Literature, Symphonic, Quintet
Playing Level:
Great player with a day job
My preferred equipment:
Factory-built stock instrument, Stock horn w/minor improvements, Modified/Custom Horn, Superhorn
I started playing trumpet:
January 1, 1975
My most memorable trumpet experience:
Various Solo recitals, Orchestral performances, lessons with the Masters, and trying horns with friends.
Personal trumpet aspiration:
To improve all the time....to perform all the Scarlatti arias for Soprano and Trumpet...with Renee Fleming...and to play like Lee Morgan
About Me:
IU UNI UNCG....Rommel Tartell Cord Adam Grabowski Bach....BSC Courtois Kanstul Martin Bach Getzen Olds Leblanc....Monette GR....Player Teacher Collector Student....etc. etc......
Interests:
Playing (solo performing), Teaching, Weddings, Opera, Jazz, New Horns, Old Horns, Single Malt Scotch, Blended Scotch, and even playing violin (on which I'm really terrible).

"Upa Neguino" is by Brazilian artist Elis Regina (d.1982). Phrasing like no other singer.
Heroes:
My first exposure to trumpet was Timofei Dokschitzer and Maynard Ferguson, but my true hero is a beautiful mother who can reeaaally sing. Ironically, it's her sound in my head.
I bought a trumpet from Felix in Sept. '07. It is by far the best horn I've ever played. He has been knowlegable, patient, and flexible. His horns are the among the best being produced anywhere. Bravo to NYTC!

It's a Taylor standard Flugel, circa 2000. It is a particularly good horn, and I use a deep v cup. Felix Veyser makes a great FLugel. Check out his NEw YOrk Trumpet Company site.
