The Courtois Balanced is a very simalar horn to the Selmer Balanced. Just a few more bells and wistles than Courtois put on the ones they built for Selmer. This rare instrument is up for sale for $900. or best offer. Contact me at sounds7@aol.com ...

Profile Information

I play these instruments...
Bb Trumpet, C Trumpet, Flugelhorn
I perform...
Jazz Combo, Contemporary Jazz, Big Band/Swing, Pop, Brass Band, Quintet, Church/Worship
Playing Level:
Pro
I started playing trumpet:
August 1, 1973
My most memorable trumpet experience:
Backing Art Neville (Neville Brothers) at the "Blues Estafette" in Utrecht Holland. My Wife's family all came out to see it. (My wife is Dutch)
Personal trumpet aspiration:
To compose and record my own music on CD and tour to sell my product for a change.
About Me:
I am pretty much a sideman. Most of my recording/touring was done with the Bass player of the "Meters" George Porter. I played mostly Saxophone with that group. I have done CDs with a few pop artist like Tori Amos, Better than Ezra, Robbie Robertson... and performed shows with some greats like Stevie Wonder, Dr. John, Kenny Rogers etc. The reality of my everyday gigging experience falls a bit short of these performances however. Hey got to pay the bills right?
Interests:
I am way into Jazz and take those type gigs whenever I can even though I usually take a pay cut to do them. I spend a lot of time at home when I'm not working. I know boring but my kids wont be around forever you know? Other than that I guess I have developed an interest in Cycling and like to pedal around when the weather is nice.
Heroes:
All the Jazz trumpet greats but especially Miles, Freddie, and Woody Shaw. Also Wayne Shorter, Weather Report, Michael Brecker, and I like Guitar Jazz artist like Mike Stern and Pat Methany. My main modern Trumpeter Hero would be Dave Douglas. My most recent jazz discovery: Mason Brothers http://www.masonbrothersband.com/
Hope to find___________ in Trumpet City...

I cant wait to get my new Harrelson Bravura!

Just ordered from Jason and should be here in about 5 weeks or so. I know about Jasons work through reading another forum called the "Trumpetherald" and I had Jason modify my Yamaha 631 that I have had since high School. My biggest mistake in this idea however is that I decided to do a flugel horn first instead of a trumpet because I rarely get to play it on my present gigs. I do break it out for jazz though and it really sings with a darkness and warmth that I have heard from very few flugel ho… Continue
